Family Support Benefit

The family support benefit is to financially assist the members’ dependents for a period of 6 months after the member’s death.

 R 50 000 payable as follows:
 one (1) installment of R 10,000 payable at the end of the month of the Member’s death, and
 R40 000 payable in five (5) further installments of R 8,000 each, at the end of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th month following the member’s death.

If a Member die before or on the Normal Retirement Date an amount of R 30 000 shall become payable as follows by the Insurer to the person legally entitled to receive the Family Support Benefit:

• one (1) installment of R 10,000 payable at the end of the month of the Member’s death, and
• five (5) further installments of R 4,000 each, payable at the end of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th month following the Member’s death.
